In the UK, Buckingham Palace sources are saying this Boxing Day that "Mr Entertainment", Bruce Forsyth, will have to wait til 2010 to be knighted.
Bruce Forsyth is the spritely 80 year old Entertainer and Presenter known to millions. Sunday Night at the London Palladium, Play Your Cards Right, The Generation Game and Strictly Come Dancing are all shows that Bruce has presented and entertained us on for many years.
His catchphrases are legendary, with "Nice to see you, to see you Nice" being the most recognized. Now it appears that "Knight to see you ... to see you Knight" will have to wait til 2010 at the earliest.
There have been 2 campaigns raised on the UK Government website, and in February 2008, a group of 41 British MP's led a motion calling for Bruce Forsyth to be knighted after he was passed over last year. The British press have got in on the act and The SUN newspaper is running it's own campaign.
The biggest online campaign group, nearing 15,000, is on Facebook and you can voice your support by joining the Give Bruce Forsyth a Knighthood Group here
On hearing the Buckingham Palace rumours, "Dr Blockbuster" running the campaign group said:
"This is nothing less than an outrage if it is true! The complaints about the voting on "Strictly Come Dancing" will pale into insignificance compared to the backlash there will be if Bruce Forsyth is not knighted this year. If Bruce Forsyth is not knighted, then this year, the Queen's Christmas message may get a New Year reply from the country! "
The country awaits to see if Bruce Forsyth is to receive his Knighthood for his lifetime contribution to the Entertainment Industry.
